Mission
The mission of the Investors’ Forum is to improve the business environment and investment climate in Lithuania, through cooperation with public institutions and the business community.
Values
The way that we pursue our mission is as important as the mission itself. Our values guide us in the way we think and act. They are the major influence in determining our objectives, forming our strategies, and evaluating our results. We believe these values to be essential in operating our organization and our activities:

Leadership. Our members benefit from the synergies created by our productive relationships with Government, other regulatory agencies, the media and other opinion leaders. Our professionals have extensive experience of government affairs, working with the Seimas, Governmental institutions and other related state agencies on a variety of issues. Within these agencies, our association is respected for its professionalism and truthful, open, realistic approach in all presented proposals and discussions.
We believe that the fundamental vitality and strength of our organization lies in our employees and members who volunteer their time and expertise to help in the delivery of Investors’ Forum know how, preparing proposals and comments on important issues. We are interested in long-term relationships with the members of Investors’ Forum and our observers. Our commitment is to provide support to our members with the highest level of professionalism, integrity and satisfaction. Only the active participation of all members of the Investors’ Forum will ensure a truly value-based, mutual culture of cooperation. We will set clear goals and expectations, will be supportive, and will provide and seek frequent feedback from all of our members.
Highest ethical standards. We have earned the respect and trust of Governmental organizations, media, people and businesses in Lithuania through 8 years of activities, based on highest ethical standards. Such behavior will continue to be the foundation on which we develop all our activities and relationships in future.
Respect for different views. We believe that Investors’ Forum future success is tied to how well we listen and respond to our members, observers and other stakeholders. We will always communicate clearly, consistently, and openly with everyone with whom we deal and will build an environment which encourages open communication, participation and honesty.
We realize that there are no simple answers to the challenges of living in a diverse world, but that our diverse communities provide opportunities at many levels. We understand that conflict is natural and do our best to effectively anticipate, manage, and resolve conflicts when they arise.
Inclusiveness. Investors’ Forum understands and believes that different communities have different strengths and needs, and there are cultural nuances that impact how people think and behave. Culture consists of learned and shared values, beliefs, norms and behaviors. We believe that community can benefit from adopting inclusiveness and we can contribute bridging cultural gaps between people from different backgrounds such as national origin, race, age, color, creed, sexual orientation, gender identity / expression, marital status, disability, etc. We understand that not all people respond in the same way to messages, and recognize that it is important to communicate in culturally appropriate and sensitive ways.
Our Strategy 2008-2010:
Investors’ Forum strategy is to be a leading business association in advocacy on investment climate improvements.
Goals
- To become even more attractive and valuable to current and potential members.
- To provide networking opportunities to our members and observers.
- To provide valuable advice and support to Lithuania’s authorities in making Lithuania more competitive in order to attract FDI.
- To form good public opinion about foreign investments and importance of foreign investments for the country, its economy and community.
- To promote Corporate Social Responsibility Concept in Lithuania.
- To engage our Members in our activities.
Objectives:
- To find new members and keep current members happy. To increase number of Investors’ Forum members to 60 (end 2010).
- To evaluate members’ needs and perceptions, using comprehensive annual survey, evaluation form, setting 1 meeting per year with each member.
- To encourage more foreign embassies residing in Lithuania to become an observers of Investors’ Forum.
- Create networking opportunities by organizing events, meetings with authorities, specialists. Improve communication and facilitate mutual cooperation on major issues. To organize at least one per year social event for members and their families. To look for new formats for IF meetings and events.
- To organize High Level Investors’ Forum with Government at least once per year.
- To maintain existing and form new working groups if needed on the specific issues. Executive Director will be acting as coordinator of all working groups.
- To continue fruitful cooperation with Lithuanian Development Agency.
- Active communication with all major media in the country. To use the media to present to the public our opinion on major issues important not only for our members but also for all business community. To improve public opinion about importance of the foreign investments for the state and the community.
- To cooperate with other associations and interest groups such as Lithuanian Free Market Institute, Transparency International, Banking Association, Confederation of Industrialists, International Chambers of Commerce and others. To have joint meetings with the Government on important issues. To cooperate preparing comments on draft legislation and coordinating joint activities in order to get the best result for all groups.
- Cooperation with Lithuanian Embassies abroad. To inform embassies about Investors’ Forum and its goals and activities.
- Cooperation with International institutions – IMF, World Bank, EBRD, EU, UNDP and other.
- To renew web site of Investors’ Forum.
Priorities of activities:
- Lithuania’s’ competitiveness in taxation and labor regulations and other issues important for doing business in Lithuania;
- Implementation of Investment Promotion program;
- Implementation of National Lisbon Agenda;
- Corporate Social Responsibility.
